Privacy Policy

Updated October 21, 2026

Everyday Muslim, provided by UMRATECH, is built to serve its users. We do not harvest personal information for sale or advertising, and we do not sell your personal information. You can use the app without creating an account. Optional sign-in, cloud, and social features use information needed to provide those features. The app also uses analytics and crash reporting to understand feature usage and improve reliability, including when you are not signed in. These practices are explained below. Contact support@umratech.com with privacy questions or requests.

Google sign-in and account information

If you choose Sign in with Google, Google and Firebase Authentication authenticate your account. We receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture when provided. Firebase maintains authentication and linked-provider information; the app stores your name and email in its Firebase account profile and may display your profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.

We use this information to create and sign you into your Everyday Muslim account, display and manage your profile, and associate account features and support requests with you. Google sign-in uses basic identity information. It does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or Google Calendar data.

App analytics and crash reporting

Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are enabled in the app. They process usage and diagnostic information such as app interactions, app and device details, service-generated installation identifiers, and crash reports. We use this information to understand which features are used, diagnose errors, and improve the app. This processing does not require Google sign-in and is separate from optional website analytics consent.

App events include interactions with optional support purchases and nearby-place features. When you perform a nearby-place search, the current app also records the search category, keyword, radius, latitude, and longitude in Firebase Analytics. Crash reports contain error and stack-trace information used to investigate failures. These services process information through Google/Firebase; they are not a sale of your data.

Information used by other app features

Information depends on the features you choose. Account profiles, support messages and attachments, feedback, optional cloud backups, and Khair Partners profiles, groups, notes, and shared activity can be stored using Google Firebase services. Cloud backups can include the prayer and fasting records and settings you choose to back up. Device notification tokens are associated with signed-in accounts to deliver app notifications.

Location permission helps calculate prayer times, show the Qibla, and find nearby places. Nearby-place and map requests may send location or search details to the relevant service provider. You can manage location and notification permissions in your device settings. Optional calendar features use your device's calendar permission; Google sign-in itself does not grant calendar access.

If you make an optional support purchase, Apple or Google processes the purchase and RevenueCat helps manage purchase status and entitlements. The app does not receive your payment-card number.

Optional Prayer Lock and Accessibility access

Prayer Lock is an optional feature that helps you pause selected apps when a protected prayer begins. On Android, it uses the AccessibilityService API to detect the package name of the app currently open. If that app is one you selected and a protected prayer is pending, Prayer Lock shows its blocking screen. Access returns after you record the pending prayer as prayed. You can disable Prayer Lock in the app or revoke Accessibility access in Android Settings at any time; other app features work without this access.

The service does not read screen contents, messages, passwords, or what you type. App-opening information is processed on your device, is not stored as app history, and is not sent to our servers or shared with others. Your selected apps and Prayer Lock settings are stored locally to provide the feature. This Accessibility information is not used for Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. On iOS, the optional feature uses Apple's Screen Time APIs and opaque app-selection tokens stored on your device.

Storage, service providers, and sharing

Google/Firebase processes account and app data to provide authentication, databases, file storage, backend functions, and notifications. Online services also process technical request information needed to operate them. Data may be processed outside your country. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy information.

Your name, profile information, and content or activity you choose to share can be visible to other users through the relevant social or community features. Support and feedback information is available to the people who handle those requests. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to investigate misuse or protect the service.

We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. We use Google account information for the account and app functions described in this notice. Signing in does not authorize unrelated use of your Google data.

Retention, account deletion, and revoking access

Account information is stored while your account is in use. You can edit your profile and use Delete Account in the app's profile settings to start deletion of your account and associated active profile, backup, and Khair Partners data. The backend also retains a deletion record containing the account email and deletion date. Deleting an account should not be understood as an immediate erasure of every operational record or every copy of content previously shared with others. Contact us for requests concerning retained information or if deletion does not complete.

You can remove Everyday Muslim's Google connection in your Google Account connections settings. Revoking Google access, signing out, or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete data already stored for your Everyday Muslim account. Use account deletion or contact support@umratech.com for help.

Analytics and crash reports are retained according to the relevant Firebase service and project settings. Account deletion does not automatically erase all service-generated analytics or diagnostic records. Contact us with requests concerning those records.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can choose whether to sign in, use optional cloud or social features, grant device permissions, or share content. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, or to raise a concern about a child's information. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, request portability, or complain to your local data-protection authority.

Website analytics

The website's optional analytics and sponsor-interaction measurement follow your consent choice. They can use cookies and identifiers and are not necessarily anonymous. Read the website privacy and analytics notice to accept, reject, or change that choice. This privacy-policy page does not load optional analytics.
