Everyday Muslim · Backup & restore
Keep your records ready for the next device.
Before you change phones, clear app data or reinstall, review Backup & Restore in Everyday Muslim. Choose the records to include and confirm that a recent backup is available.
- Choose backup categories
- Optional automatic backups
- Restore from saved backups
Check a backup before you need it
Open Backup & Restore and review the latest backup date. Choose the available categories you want to include, then use Backup and wait for the app to confirm the result.
A local record on your phone is not the same as a completed cloud backup. Do not erase the old device or app data just because you have opened the backup screen.
Review the account and the selected data
Cloud backup uses the app’s sign-in and online services. Check the account you are using and the categories selected in Backup & Restore rather than assuming every feature is included.
Backups can contain personal worship records and settings. Review the current privacy policy to understand the online features, and use an account you intend to keep access to.
Read the current privacy policyChoose automatic backups if they suit you
The app offers optional automatic backups for selected categories. Review the schedule and the latest successful backup in the app. Background work depends on device conditions, so an enabled setting is not proof that the most recent changes have already uploaded.
The backup service retains a limited history, currently the five most recent backups. Check a useful restore point before replacing data or relying on an older copy.
Restore carefully on the device you want to use
Sign in with the account associated with your backups and review the available restore choices. Read any warning or category selection before confirming, because restoring can change the data currently in the app.
After restoring, check the records that matter to you and review device-specific settings such as notification permissions and widgets. Backup is not a promise of automatic import from a different prayer app.
If a backup is missing
Check the account, connection, selected categories and the last successful date. If you still need help, contact support@umratech.com with the app version, device type and a description of the backup or restore step that failed.
Do not send passwords or a full copy of private worship records when a date, error message or redacted screenshot is enough to explain the problem.
A few useful answers
Before you begin.
Should I reinstall first when reminders stop working?
Check settings and permissions first. Before reinstalling or clearing data, confirm a recent successful backup of the records you want to preserve.
Does turning on automatic backup prove my latest data is saved?
No. Review the latest successful backup date. Device and network conditions can affect background work.
How many backups are retained?
The current backup service keeps the five most recent backups. Check the restore choices available in your installed version.
Will restoring also enable phone notification permissions?
Device permissions can need separate setup. After restoring, review reminders, widgets and other device-specific settings.
